Blog #2: All OTCs Are Not Alike!

Conventional OTC products contain drugs and are harmful.
Natural OTC products are herbal based & are usually safe.

By reading the labels. Conventional products are FDA regulated.
Natural products are listed as dietary supplements on the labels.

Chose the happy emotion image because, natural OTC products
makes me feel happy & good. I chose the sad emotion because,
conventional OTC products makes me feel sad & sick.

They are plant based & usually inexpensive.
They are very effective and gentle on my system.
They're both short-term & long-term. Because
I can use for either, I have options.

The advantages are: safer & lower cost products.
The main concerns are basically the safety and side effects.

From my high school teamates & coaches back in 1982.
Yes, from different coaches & classmates. I also researched
labels at drugstores like Walgreens.

To improve my performance in high school sports.

It was a recommendation. Also, the ingredient
which was herb based.

I did not have any concerns because, I
trusted the recommendations & ingredients.

It was back in 1982 in high school.
The natural OTC product was ginseng.

For the increased energy.
I purchased the product at Walgreens.

The fact that it increased energy & performance.
Also, it was something a teenager could afford.
It worked out very well. I was very satisfied.

Nature's Measure, vitamin C. Major, vitamin B-12.
Nutrition Essentials, Neuro Clarity.

Vitamin C: For a healthy immune system.

Vitamin B-12: For a healthy nervous system.

  1. Hi Manuel and thank you for sharing your thoughts on OTC's. In a previous interview you mentioned using Airborne and Emergen-C. How do you classify these products? How and when do you decide to use them and what would be alternatives to using these particular products?

    1. I classify those products as natural OTC products.
I consider them powdered vitamin C.

I experiment with different natural OTC products,
to see how they react to my system. By body tells
me when to try an alternative product.

Vitamin C tablets or gummy form vitamin C would
      be my alternative.

  2. How do you use traditional OTC products alongside of the natural ones? As a replacement, as a complement? For example, when you have a cold or if you have pain or stomach issues?
